yesterday, August 17th 2009 Indonesia celebrates its 64th independence day. That means it has been 64 years since the founding fathers of this nation claimed their independence after this nations occupied by imperialists for more than 350 years by the Portuguese, Dutch and Japan.

It was beyond imagination the sufferings that the people of this nation had experienced during imperialism. They got robbed, raped, tortured and forced to work for the benefit of the imperialist government without given any right. Many of those people died before having a chance to feel what it's like to live in an independence country.

Anyway, thanks to all the people that had been given their lives, sweat and blood for this nation's independence so that today we can manage our own life without fearing about being robbed or killed by the imperialists. But however, being an independence country doesn't mean that we instantly being a perfect nation. There are still so many things we have to do to make this nation a better place to live. There are worst things than imperialism that we still have to fight. We still have to fight against poverty, nature destruction, poor education, corruption, conspiracy, drugs, human trafficking, crime and many more.
